Besides that, you can only try watching who is queuing, what tier, and adjust. I find that 7.3-7.7 is getting downtiered a lot due to 6.7 being such a chore to get through for most players.

I dont think that too far off though.

The 6.7-7.7 range of vehicles is a bit limited though since they'll be more likely to be fighting armor-negating-heat-fs but you'll still find plenty of use for armor if you stick with it.
